What is a country saddler?
The country saddler has origins in England's countryside where he was guilded
after a long apprenticeship and known for his ability to fix, design or make
anything the area's horsemen needed. Craftsmanship and expertise were
sought out by the horseman as their tack had to endure. Our name is not a
coincidence.
Wayne J Rasmussen
Wayne is an accomplished craftsman and well respected among his peers and
within the industry. With over 35 years at the bench his resume includes
extensive custom saddle and bridle work for many of the top international and
national riders in every ring. His abilities lie in every English discipline but he
specializes in the Hunter Jumper market.
Wayne has a unique understanding of his craft and his feel is demonstrated in
details that are the benchmark of his finished work. From extensive saddle work
to the making of our own line of tack, he is always committed to signing his
work with excellence.
Our Business
The Country Saddler is owned and operated by
Janet and Wayne Rasmussen who started their business career together in
1980 with one of the first large mobile units on the Florida Winter Circuit. The
years of experience with knowledgeable riders and trainers prepared them for
their change to concentrate on providing custom service with innovative and
hand crafted products. They recognized a need to provide a hands on approach
to their products, which has led to a growing demand for their services. Many of
the ideas to emerge from their shops have resulted in patents and created
changes in the industry and your own tack
